Recover forgotten exec or enable password
If you have forgotten your password to get into your Cisco 675 this will allow
you to erase your running configuration. This will erase every thing so you
will have to reconfigure your Cisco from ground zero. You can find the configuration
for your Cisco 675 here. Make sure to print the
configuration out before proceeding with the below process.
- You will need to hyper terminal into your Cisco 675 and be at a CBOS>
prompt or at the prompt where it askes you for you password but you can't
remember what the password is. You can find help on using hyper terminal here.
- Once you are hyper terminaled into the Cisco 675 what you
will need to do is pull the power plug out with hyper
terminal window still open. When you plug the power back
into the Cisco 675 you will see the red alarm light turn
on and blink. At that time you will need to push (on your
keyboard) the "ctrl" button and the "C"
key at the same time. Push it like three times while the
red alarm light is blinking. This will assure you to get
into ROM Monitor Mode of the Cisco675.
- Now you seeing "Entering ROM Monitor Mode" , or
something similiar. Hit enter and you should be at a
promt like this "=>". Now type the below
commands.
- The es 6 command will erase sector 6, that is the sector
with your configuration information. The rb command will
reboot the Cisco 675 back into normal mode and you can
just hit enter through the passwords. You will now need
to reconfigure your Cisco 675.
