Upgrade Instructions for CBOS 2.4.3
Once you have the file for the flash ROM upgrade. The below
instructions will help you upgrade you Cisco 675/678 to version 2.4.3.
- You will need to be connected to your Cisco 675/678 via
serial port meaning connected through hyperterminal. You
can get hyperterminal help here.
- Once in hyperterminal you should be at a CBOS> prompt.
Type enable and hit enter , if you have a password for
enable mode you will need to type that in when it prompts
you. Now you should be at a CBOS# sign. Now type the
below command
- set download code enable
- Wait until the Cisco 675/678 is ready to receive the file.
It will be ready to receive the file when you are
looking at funky s's .
- Now go up to the menu option (in hyperterminal)
that says Transfer and then go down to Send file...
- Now click the button that says Browse... and
locate the .bin file. In the box below the file
location is the protocol box, make sure to select
XMODEM as the protocol. After you have done both
of these click the OK button. Now the Cisco's
CBOS is being upgraded to version 2.4.3. This
will take upto 15 minutes so be patient and dont
do anything.
- After the flash ROM upgrade is complete you will see the
below information:

- The Cisco is now rebooted and you should be running CBOS
version 2.4.3. You can type show version and it will tell
you the version of the Cisco 675/678.
